My Masthead Ideas

My College Magazine Flat-Plan

I like this magzine front cover because it's quite childish however it still needs a picture inserted and the font for the cover-lne and skyline needs changing to something more original.

The font used for the mast-head is Action Jackson.

Analysis Of A Magazine Cover

The genre of this magazine cover is music.
The target audience for this magazine cover would be Madonna fans as the main image is of Madonna and people aged 30+.
Also this magazine cover would appeal more to males then Females.
The background colours are quite dull with a light blue cloudy sky which contrasts with the bright orange Masthead 'Rolling Stone'

In the main image they have styled Madonna in a Country theme with a cowgirl hat and acoustic guitar to suit her music style which at that time was country. The style of the actual magazine cover is rather basic with plain text with the only interesting text being the Masthead  'Rolling Stone' in bright orange text and the lead article 'Madonna -Can't Stop The Music' which ties in with the main image of Madonna.

This college magazine is more simple in colours and font, with the main image is of a student doing a science experiment with goes with the lead article 'Doing science at Benoit' the lead article is in big bold white font which is simple but effective as it shows up against a grayish background and the student wearing dark clothes. The masthead is the same lead article in font and colour yet it is larger so it stands out whereas the cover-lines are in a small green font which does not stand out so much. I think this article would appeal to the more boring, mature students.
